Please read the following update on all of our events that take place during CoVid restrictions. Information on this page will be updated when required and will supersede any other information on this page. Please note that courses may be amended to take into account restrictions.

Distance: 54/67.5km (33.5/42 Miles)
Climb: 1300/1800 metres (4300/6000ft)
Maximum Entrants: 200
Trackers: All entrants will be supplied with a tracker and a weblink will be provided during the week prior to the race, where runners and friends and family can watch your progress during the race.
Cost: £65 (£50 Early Bird Deadline 1/1/22)
Car Park/Start and Finish: Craftsman Tools Car Park (owned by William Sinclair Stationers in Otley – both have kindly allowed us to use it for the race). It is located at the end of Bremner Street off the A659 Pool Road LS21 1JD.
Start: From 6am to 9am
Event Closes: 7pm
Maps Recommended: OS Explorer Maps 297 and 288 OR Welcome Way booklet for £7.49 including p & p covers most of the course except the last section from Surprise View to the finish. The route is substantially waymarked. The 51km course will be taped.
Basic Route Details: Our first event of the season The Welcome Ultra starts off from Weston Lane Community Centre in Otley and heads up to Clifton then across to Askwith then to Denton before crossing an iron bridge over the River Wharfe to Ben Rhydding then Burley-in-Wharfedale, up onto Burley Moor over to Shipley Glen then Baildon Moor, Guiseley, Yeadon over The Chevin to Surprise View and across to Old Pool bankand finally down to the finish in Otley. Please be aware that part of this race is over open moorland providing stunning views and challenges as well as sometimes boggy paths!
The Bingley Loop. An additional 7 mile loop which takes in the extended Welcome Way, at Shipley Glen the route loops around Bingley before returning to Shipley Glen for an added challenge.
Checkpoints: Each checkpoint will have bottled water, energy bars and crisps.
Checkpoint 1: Denton 8.8 miles 8.30am to 10.30am
Checkpoint 2: Burley 13.4 miles 9.30am to 11.30am
Checkpoint 3: Shipley Glen 21.1/29.5 miles 11.30am to 3.30pm (If you wish to do the loop you must get to CP3 by 1.00pm you will return to this checkpoint after the loop)
Checkpoint 4: Esholt 25.3/33.7 miles 12 noon to 5pm
Checkpoint 5: The Chevin 34.4/42.9 miles 12.30pm to 6pm

Every finisher receives a medal, A Welcome Ultra Tech T-Shirt. Event finishing positions are in order of distance completed then time taken.
